Mindfulness Weekend Retreat
Becoming Unstuck
Fri 22nd - Sun 24th June 2018
Innistaigh Mountain Retreat
Mount Mellum, Sunshine Coast Hinterland
"Why do you stay in prison
when the door is so
wide open?"

- Rumi
We all have the experience of feeling stuck in our lives sometimes - whether it is feeling emotionally trapped, bombarded by negative mind states, feeling powerless over unhelpful habits, or unable to bring to fruition something we long for. And the harder we keep trying to free ourselves the more stuck we feel - in just the same way that spinning the wheels when our car becomes bogged sinks us deeper into the mud.
The "Becoming Unstuck" Retreat offers an opportunity to change your relationship with your physical, emotional, spiritual and mental distress. You will learn how to navigate difficult emotions and reduce the impact of negative thought patterns. You will discover for yourself the paradoxical truth that what we resist persists, and what we embrace dissolves - and experience the freedom that comes from that discovery. This weekend is also designed to help you look at yourself with kinder eyes that recognise your own good qualities. As one participant commented, "I feel myself again!".

What to expect at the retreat?
During the weekend we use a combination of mindfulness meditation practices and Western mind science to teach you how to step out of unhelpful patterns and develop new habits and perspectives that nourish. The retreat will be partly in silence, and will include guided meditation practices, class exercises, group discussions, gentle yoga, and some periods of free time to go for a walk, journal or just rest.
The advantage of a weekend retreat is the opportunity to go deeper into meditation and self-exploration processes. This deeper work often leads to significant shifts.
The retreat is guided by Astrid de Ruiter and Kerry Greene.
